At least we've got Better Things every now and then.

Please join me on Tuesday, August 5th, at 7:00pm, at Moon Palace Books, for the next Better Things 5×5 Reading and Open Mic, featuring five fantastic artists: Ollie Schminkey, Lamar Renville, Eli Simmons, Douglas Kearney, and Nell Ubbelohde (I’m co-hosting this event).

Both reading and open mic will feature ASL interpretation—this may be the only ASL-interpreted open mic in the Twin Cities!

BuckSlam’s new season begins next Wednesday, July 9th, at a new venue, Indeed Brewing (Facebook event). Doors at 6:30pm, slam starts at 7:00pm.

I’ve been busy taking classes in various aspects of film production. Which may or may not lead to anything spectacular in the near future. Now I’m doing a lot of <gasp> actual writing! First drafts, revisions, rearrangements, all that jazz. And working (more) on my play, This Body, This Fruit, which is coming out…somewhere…later this year. Also doing some painting. Oh, and that podcast 🤩. Also coming out later this year. And I’m trying to survive. What a life!

I am available for paid gigs, if you’ve got a poet-shaped hole to fill in your event, but otherwise you may not see much of me this summer. I do have a stack of already-filmed videos to post, so those may tide you over in the meantime; you can also check out my YouTube channel (and subscribe!) for other video bits.

And, of course, I’ll be at Better Things. If you’re in the neighborhood…see you there?
