some upcoming events. if you even care.
Davi sometimes does memes. They probably shouldn't. Here's the rest of September.
Yes, BuckSlam happened. Mmm-mmm good. Local national worldwide intergalactic poetry celebrity Danez Smith was rumored confirmed to be secretly a judge.
Thursday, September 12th, Flava Coffee & Café, 623 W. University Ave., in St. Paul, is Re-Verb Open Mic - first time I’ll make it here in a couple months, and I’ll have to miss the next month, too. So if you want to see me here, pop in! Featured artist is the delightful poet & rapper Crowfather.
Coming up on Friday, September 13th, at Eloise Butler Wildflower Garden and Bird Sanctuary:
Saturday, September 14th, I’ll be at the Fall Sound Garden at Caponi Art Park - probably not the whole time, but I’ll be there at some point. Even when I’m not there, my poem will be - look near the stump in the big clearing below the house.
Attending (but not reading at) a couple of readings on Sunday; a Member Open Play on Monday; and some more & various events here & there around town.
On Friday, September 27th, I’m going to check out the Queer Open Mic at Eat My Words Bookstore.
And last (sneaking under the velvet ropes into this rest-of-September post) but absolutely not least, I’m co-hosting the Better Things 5x5 Reading on October 1st, at Moon Palace Books.
The lineup of readers is spectacular: aegor ray, Louise Waakaa’igan, Michael Kleber-Diggs, Moheb Soliman, and Paul van Dyke. I very much look forward to this. Hope to see you there!
