Sneak Peek: The Set List (Re-Verb Open Mic)

I don’t always read poetry when I get the chance to read at TruArtSpeaks’ weekly open mic. But usually it’s poetry 😊. It is this time, too.

I also don’t usually know what I’m going to read in advance—most often, I bring along a fistful of poems, and make my choices depending on my mood and what other people have brought to the space. This time, though, I’ve got it lined up.

This is my planned set list; it’s pushing pretty close to my 15-minute time limit, so I may end up dropping one, depending on how much I end up talking in between pieces. But it’s a good flow; it’s got a funky beat, and I can bug out to it, like the song says. Hopefully I can get it all in.

So there you have it! For those of you able to make it, I look forward to seeing you there. For those who can’t, well…I hope you get whatever it is you’re looking for wherever you’re going to be.
