SC25 - Days 13 & 14 (Button Press & Tupelo Press)
Thought you caught me slipping? Only the aftereffects...
I read a poetry book yesterday, just didn’t make it to the posting part. It was a full day, what with the announcement of my first poetry collection being picked up by
. Big, full day 😃.Rather than post two Sealey Challenge posts in one day, I’m combining them. Please direct all complaints to the nearest oubliette.

The book is Nothing Is Okay, by Rachel Wiley (2019 Ohioana Book Award Winner - Readers’ Choice). I had the amazing experience of watching Rachel perform at the Midwest Poetry Mashup in 2024. Mind. Blown.

The book is Lost, Hurt, or in Transit Beautiful (winner of the Kundiman Prize), by Rohan Chhetri. (Interview about the book on Tupelo Quarterly website.) This is a gorgeous, brutal, and formally fascinating collection, well worth a read. I’d never heard of Chhetri before.
We’ll see what happens tomorrow. Always something new!
