SC25 - Day Fifteen (University of Pittsburgh Press)
The book is the subject of the book. (Edmund Jabès)
It feels like I’ve already picked all the low-hanging fruit (i.e., faster-to-read collections) from my sideways stack, and now the days will get increasingly… shorter? More poetry-filled? 😅
August 15th - Book Fifteen (University of Pittsburgh Press)

Number of Poems: 27
Time Reading: 50 minutes
The book is Then, Suddenly— (Finalist for ForeWord Magazine's 1999 Poetry Book of the Year), by Lynn Emanuel. The cover design was not my favorite, which I think is one reason it took me so long to get to this collection, which has been on my shelves for a while. But the poetry… 🤯. This is such a smart and intriguing book!
I’m performing tomorrow on the North Side, but I’ll sneak a poetry collection in sometime after that….
