Quick, Pretend You Saw Something Completely Different (or, how I learned to love being embarrassed on the Internet)
Honorable Mention, 2023 Muriel Craft Bailey Poetry contest: Did I Say Something? Because What I Meant to Say Was Something Else Entirely: "In Which She Embarked Upon a Voyage"
Sorry, mixed up my publications. On the bright side, I’m not the New York Times. On the other hand, I actually know(ish) the people in front of whom I’ve…said something embarrassing. And I guess it’s a great place to be in, having more than one upcoming publication to get mixed up about. So I got that going for me. Ahem. Back to your previously scheduled life!
So, yay! Finally! I’ve had a pretty dry year so far, as far as publications go. But this one is good! I mean the publication, not the poem. I mean, the poem is good. But that’s not what I’m talking about. Oh…you know what I mean!
The Comstock Review does not publish online—it’s old-school, print only, and therefore you’ll have to subscribe, or haunt a library, or come over and borrow my copy if you want to read the poem 😉.
Yes, it’s based on real life. Which most, but not all, of my poetry is.
More publication news later on. Not very much later on, either 😁.
