This monthās Better Things is an amazing lineup; Iāll be co-hosting with Louise Waakaaāigan š¤©. As usual, weāll be at Moon Palace Books, first Tuesday of the month (October 7th) at 7pm. Reading is followed by an open mic, both with ASL interpreters!
Iāll be reading poetry (15 minutesā worth š) at the Midstream Reading Series along with Emily August, Kathryn Kysar, and Debra J Stone. The readingās on Thursday, October 9th, at Unity Church-Unitarian (732 Holly Avenue, Saint Paul 55104) ā use the Holly Avenue entrance; the reading is upstairs in the Robbins Parlor.

This is early, and Iāll include it in next monthās newsletter, too, but Iām leading a Poetry Re-Vision workshop on November 11th, 6pm, at the Liberal Arts Engagement Hub over at the University of Minnesota as part of the ReEntry Lab residency at the Hub.

The St. Paul Almanac is throwing a Book Launch Party for the 20th Anniversary Edition, Volume 14: Illumination on October 16th at 7pm at the Wilder Foundation in North Saint Paul. I donāt have work in this volume, but I was part of the editing team putting it together and Iām proud of the work we did š.

The canāt-miss reading of the year, Beyond Bars: Voices of Incarceration, is October 25th, 7-9pm, at the Klas Center, Kay Fredericks Room (3rd Floor), at Hamline University, 1537 W Taylor Ave, St. Paul 55104. I highly recommend going in person, if you can, but thereās also a Zoom option, for which youāll need to register.
