June, 2024. It's happening. Happened? Tense is a problem.
I'm writing. Writing, I tell you! And some more stuff.
So, I didn’t get around to writing this post until half of the most exciting events already happened…. Spoken Word at Silverwood Park (awesome!), Ollie Schminkey’s book launch for Where I Dry the Flowers (amazing!) at Strike Theater (tremendous!), the ReEntry Lab event Better Things (stupendous!). Some more stuff happened, too, but like everything in the past, it’s no longer reachable, cannot be touched, tilted, broken, or fixed at this point.
But there’s a bit left of June, and I’ll be trying to get to the Re-Verb Open Mic, hosted by TruArtSpeaks at Flava Coffee & Cafe every Thursday from 6-8pm, once or twice this month.
Also this month - June 12th, to be precise - is the last of the Spring Season (i.e., free practice joints) at BuckSlam (heard that!), held at Boneshaker Books every 2nd Wednesday from 7-10pm.
