Tuesday, September 2nd, Better Things 5x5 Reading & Open Mic

As usual, this will be at Moon Palace Books in Minneapolis (3032 Minnehaha Ave).

I’m not on the Features slate, but I am co-hosting, and I will, as usual, kick off the open mic with a poem 😉.

Saturday, September 6th, Nourish: A Reading Series

I’m thrilled and honored to be part of the inaugural event of this reading series, hosted by Sara Dovre Wudali and modeled after Better Things (which, in turn, borrowed the 5x5 format from local star poet E. R. Tannen). This is happening at Cafe Marguerite in Northeast Minneapolis (300 13th Ave NE).

Wednesday, September 10th, BuckSlam!

I mean, assuming the random numbers are kind to me. (If more than 12 poets sign up, metaphorical lots are drawn to eliminate the overs 😅.) So far, so good.

I have not yet made it to the second round this season. I’ve decided to take it as a challenge—how much good poetry can I bring without getting out of the first round? I am winning 100% so far! 🏆 (To be fair, I often bring poems that are not what people expect at a slam. I think expectations can be pretty boring 🤷🏼‍♀️.)

Sunday, September 14th, All In! A True Variety Show

“A brand-new variety show presented by The Headwaters Collective of Performing Arts LLC (HCPA). A wild hour and a half show with everything from singing, dancing, acting, comedy, and MORE!” I’m part of the MORE 😄.

This event will be at The Hive Collaborative in St. Paul (677 Hamline Ave N). There are only 60 seats total, so there is a possibility they will sell out. If you want to secure your seat, I’d order sooner rather than later.

In Other News…

• Work continues on the podcast I’m producing. Excited to share more soon!

• I’ve been doing some painting. Got a new series (OK, three new series 😅) I’m excited about. Not sure when I might post more about that, but it’s in the works.

• Still working on getting my play produced. Or producing it myself. Or a little of both! Making lists. Checking them once, because who has time to be extra?! Trying to carve out time to make a demo reel. And so on and so forth. I’ll keep you posted.

• I’m going to post some of the video work I’ve had stacked up since…last year? Time gets away from me. Don’t hold your breath (because why would you?) but paid subscribers will get early access, so.
