(I’m posting this, but not mailing it, to avoid spamming peoples’ email boxes. But I had to post it because the linking interface in Notes is not great.)
Looking at the list of authors at Wordplay, I saw Guante—Kyle Tran Myhre—and remembered just how astonishing his spoken word is.
So I poked around his website, then got sucked into his YouTube poetry playlist. Which, though YouTube sometimes feels like wastage, turned out to be—in this most singular slice of that videocandy universe—a wondrous way to spend some time. If you only have a few minutes, and want to avoid binge temptations, here are links to (only) three fantastic pieces by Guante:

When They Look Right Through You
He’s got a new book of poetry out, too, “Not a Lot of Reasons to Sing, But Enough.” You can buy it at Moon Palace, from Button Poetry, on Bookshop, on Amazon, or wherever you get your books!
If you need a primer on Spoken Word poetry, he has a Beginner’s Guide posted on his website, too.
