Also These Two Things... (opening reception & preorder)
Because if I didn't forget stuff now & then, I would think I'd been possessed by some demon of excess memory. And then I'd worry about that.
I was fortunate to be part of the Saint Paul Almanac 2024 Fall Community Editor Apprenticeship. In that work I helped edit the forthcoming 20th Anniversary Edition of the Almanac (Vol. 14: Illumination). It’s available for preorder now, with a 20% discount through August 15th.
An art book which came out last year, by local book artist Richard Stephens, will be on display at the Minnesota Center for Book Arts (Main Gallery, on the ground floor of Open Book). The book is titled Things I Carried, and it carries words from several veterans, including me. It’s a gorgeous piece of work; if you want to see it, you should go see the Studiomates: Creating in Shared Space exhibition. Opening reception Friday, June 20th, 6-8pm. Runs through August 3rd.
I’m not sure if any copies are available for sale; it was an even more limited edition (my copy is #27 of 31) than DDRC Volume Six: Chanson. And more expensive. Any Davi Gray completists out there are signed up for A Challenge 😅.
Speaking of which, you may soon be able to buy some small poetry broadsides with accompanying buttons at A Market Near You (if you happen to live near Minneapolis). More on that in the next couple weeks!
Broadsides! Love this. Congratulations!
